Of Martyrs, Migrants, and Mysteries: An Intriguing Journey Through…

Join this thrilling investigative voyage in ancestor tracing, with its twists, turns and brick walls; where fact is often stranger than fiction. Here, buried family secrets come to light, ordinary heroes fight for their faith, and legend has it there is a remote village deep in the heart of China named ‘Bethlehem’. The speaker, Cyprian Lim, is a father of seven, a researcher and author of My Maternal Roots: A Story of Family, Faith and Freedom. Sign up at http://tinyurl.com/AITJ2023 by 6 August.

BAT: The Great Adventure Bible Timeline

An In-Depth Exploration of Salvation History

The Bible Timeline study program by Ascension Press takes you on a guided journey through salvation history. Presenter Jeff Cavins will show you how fourteen of the Bible’s narrative books tell the biblical story from beginning to end and will give you the keys to understanding the amazing story woven throughout Scripture. In this revolutionary approach to Bible study, The Bible Timeline divides the Bible into twelve color-coded time periods that make the narrative thread easier to follow. Using a unique color-coded chart, you will learn the major people, places, and events of the Bible and discover how they all come together to reveal the remarkable story of our Faith. The Bible Timeline will teach you how to read and understand the entire Bible and introduce you to the wonderful narrative of Scripture in a way that will transform your life.

BAT will offer The Bible Timeline beginning on Wed 21 Jun at 8pm. Participants will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. For more information and registration, visit https://bit.ly/GBA2023Register.

Lent @ SFX

Three initiatives have been introduced this Lent in our parish, in which old and young can participate. Ask the Lord to grace you with the desire to go beyond token sacrifices, that this Lent will change us in meaningful and lasting ways – there is no better response than to thank God for his great sacrifice of love for us. Let us make a personal and communal effort to mark this Lent with repentance, reflection and spiritual growth so that we might experience a truly joyful Easter!

LENTEN PROMPTS
Each weekend, parishioners will be given a specially designed ‘Lenten Offerings’ card. Prayerfully commit to your personal Lenten sacrifice – ideally one for each of the three pillars of Prayer, Fasting, Almsgiving. The completed card will be collected at the end of the Mass and faithfully fulfill your commitments for theweek(s) ahead. The completed card will be collected at the end of the Mass and faithfully fulfill your commitments for theweek(s) ahead.

PRAY IT FORWARD
Let us spiritually accompany our RCIA/Y Elect/Candidates preparing for the Easter sacraments by picking a name and praying daily for the person. As a way of welcoming him/her into God’s family, you may wish to write a note or include a small gift. Prayer cards are available at the icon of our Blessed Mother and at the back of the Church.

SOUND OF SILENCE
Beginning this Lent, let’s reclaim the forgotten art of sacred silence and stillness before the Lord during Mass so that we can hear his Spirit speaking to us, leading to growth in personal holiness. Outside of Mass, make this ‘quiet time’ a daily date with Jesus!
