Inviting all who are unwell and homebound to this special Mass with the Sacrament of Anointing. Come experience the “special grace on the Christian experiencing the difficulties inherent in the condition of grave illness or old age” (CCC 1527). Family and friends are also welcome to join in this special Eucharistic Celebration. Let us support them as a loving and prayerful community. The SFX Biblical Apostolate Team proudly presents The Biblical Roots of the Mass: A Scriptural Explanation of the Roman Missal presented by Helen Chong. This study explains the words in the Mass that Catholics know so well by looking at their biblical roots. After a brief study of the history of the Mass in English and why Pope Benedict XVI issued a new English translation, you will learn about the biblical basis of the following parts of the Mass: the Opening Greeting, the Penitential Rite, the Kyrie Eleison, the Gloria, the Sanctus, the Communion Rite and the Final Blessing. Join SFXBAT to study where the words of the Mass come from in the Bible and discover the hidden key to the deeper spiritual meaning of each and every part of the Mass.
